Privacy Notice
How ToolForge collects, uses and shares personal data when you use its tools and paid plans.
Who we are
ToolForge ("we", "us") operates the ToolForge website and tools and is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Questions can be sent to privacy@toolforge.example.
Personal data we collect and why
Account and contact data (email address, name if you give one): to create your account, answer support requests and send service notices. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Support messages and any content you send us: to investigate and answer your request. Legal basis: legitimate interests in supporting our users.
Usage and device data (pages viewed, tool used, browser type, approximate location from IP address, IP address): to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and decide which tools to improve. Legal basis: legitimate interests, and legal obligation where security logging is required.
Subscription records (plan, status, billing period, payment provider identifiers): to give you access to the plan you bought and to show your subscription status. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Files and text you drop into in-browser tools are processed inside your own tab and are not sent to us or stored by us.
Who we share data with
Service providers acting on our instructions: hosting, database, error monitoring and email delivery.
Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of our plans, subscription management, payments, invoicing, refunds and sales tax compliance. Paddle acts as its own controller for the payment data it collects.
Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed, and public authorities where we are required by law to disclose data.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses together with additional safeguards.
How long we keep data
Account and subscription records are kept for as long as your account is active and for up to seven years afterwards where tax or accounting law requires it. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months. Security and usage logs are kept for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or send it to another provider. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. We answer requests within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege credentials and audit logging as appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential browser storage for your language choice, recent tools and subscription lookup. We use aggregate, non-identifying usage counts to improve the tools. No advertising cookies are set. You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings.
